Signed-out session, Instagram changes, Chrome download settings, and when to email support.
Work through this list top to bottom. It fixes almost every report we get.
Checklist
- Is Instagram signed in in this Chrome profile? A red ! badge on the extension icon means no. Sign in on instagram.com and reload the tab.
- Is the extension enabled? Open
chrome://extensionsand check the toggle. Reload the Instagram tab after enabling. - Reload the Instagram tab. Instagram is a single-page app; after long sessions the overlay can need a fresh load.
- Check Status. When Instagram changes something that breaks downloads, we post it there and ship a fix.
- Is the content visible to you? Private accounts you do not follow, Close Friends Stories, and deleted posts cannot be downloaded.
- Chrome download settings. If Ask where to save each file is on, every file opens a dialog. Turn it off for bulk runs. Also check that Chrome is not blocking downloads for instagram.com.
- Rate limits. If a big run slows or stalls, wait a few minutes and use Resume or Download New.
- Hit a free limit? The extension tells you which one. See free limits explained.
