Back up a whole Instagram account
Archive a full profile with Download All, then use Download New for only the new posts.
A real backup is two moves: one full archive, then only-the-new-posts runs from then on. Master Instagram Downloader is built around exactly that.
Step 1: Download All once
- Open the Instagram profile in Chrome. The Master Instagram Downloader panel appears on the profile page.
- Click Download All.
- Choose what to include: photos, videos, or both, with optional Reel covers.
- Choose the scope. All takes everything. Manual Selection, Range, and the 7-day and 30-day presets narrow it down. Each finished run counts as one of your weekly runs. See date ranges.
- Start the run and keep the Instagram tab open. Large profiles take a while; the extension paces requests so Instagram does not block you.
Step 2: Download New later
Next week, open the same profile and click Download New. The extension remembers the baseline and only saves items added since the last run, skipping duplicates. A 4,000-post archive followed by 17 new files is the normal case. Details in Download only new posts.
Keep track
The Account page inside the extension lists the profiles you have synced, so you can see what has a baseline and when it last ran.
Free includes 20 successful bulk runs per UTC week (Download All, Manual Selection, Range, or Time) and Download New on up to 10 Instagram accounts. A run only counts when it finishes normally and saves at least 80% of the files it attempted. Pro removes both limits.
